Introduction to working at scooterMAN

ScooterMAN Ltd is a unique chauffeuring service, providing chauffeurs to drive people home in their own cars– www.scooterman.co.uk

Over the next few weeks, we will be looking for new crewmembers to join our teams of chauffeurs across the UK.

What does the work involve?

The work involves riding to the customers on one of our scooterMAN mopeds (49cc or 72cc), which is then dismantled before being put into the boot of the customer's car. Having chauffeured the customer home in their car, you re-assemble the moped and scoot on to the next job. You will typically do 3-4 jobs per evening in a 10 mile radius around where you live.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for careful and experienced drivers who have a good road knowledge of the local area. You need to be highly a self motivated, reliable individual and looking for self employed flexible short hours work and available on week-end evenings.

Typically, our chauffeurs are freelancers (actors / musicians / students / self employed individuals) who are looking for some evening / night work as supplementary income and that does not clash with their other commitments - typically committing to 3 nights per week at scooterMAN.

You should enjoy outdoor work, driving a wide range of cars and meeting lots of different people.

Min Requirements:

· Aged 22 years old
· Valid Driving License (UK) for min 1 year for car
· CBT or full motorcycle license
· Min 6 months driving experience in the local area
· Min 6 months scootering / bike experience
· Available for min 3 nights per week (including Friday and Saturday nights)

How much work is available?

While there is work available 7 days per week, you will be required to be available at a min of 3 nights per week, including Fri and Sat evenings – which are our busiest times – and be able to commit to a min of 3 week-ends per month.

Shifts generally start at 10pm and end between 1-4am (depending on customer demand). Last job pick up times are as follows.

· Monday  1am
· Tuesday  1am
· Wednesday  1am
· Thursday  2.30am
· Friday   3.30am
· Saturday  3.30am
· Sunday  midnight

How do I get Paid?


Wages are paid on a monthly, on a self-employment basis. Full documentation provided.
You can expect to earn on average of around £7.50 /hr, totally between £30 – £50 per week-end evening for working a 4-5 hr shift, starting at 10pm


Tips normally work out at average of £3-4 per job, taking your hourly rate up to £9-12 / hr.

What Equipment do I need to provide?

1. Mobile Phone / Watch / Pen
2. Motorbike Helmet 
3. Waterproof clothing / shoes / gloves
4. Street level A-Z Map of the local area
5. £20 cash float (to give change to the customers)
6. Fuel for moped

Where is the work based? 

You will operate from your own home, and will be allocated work in your area. Our national call centre which handles all customer bookings and driver operations will text you job details to your mobile phone.

We will lease you one of our 49cc mopeds (with CBT) or a 72cc (with full bike license) to keep at your home. You will need to have a secure location to store your moped.

We will maintain the bikes from our offices in Battersea, London SW8 where we have a fully trained mechanic, but you will be required to do basic daily maintenance on your bike (training provided) such as re-fuel bike, change bulbs, lubricate chain, and check engine oil. We will provide you with spare bulbs, engine oil and lubricants etc.

We will provide you with the necessary comprehensive insurance to drive customers cars. In the unlikely event you have an accident that is your fault, you will be responsible for paying up to a maximum of £250 (half of the insurance excess).

Contract Period

There is a minimum of 1 month contract, after which you are required to give a minimum of 2 weeks notice.

How quickly can I start?

Successful applicants will potentially be able to start work within the next few days.

On completion of the online form, we will call you within 48hrs to discuss the opportunity further and potentially invite you for a driving assessment. Full training will be
provided, proir to starting.
